What type of transmission do Liebherr loaders use?

Most Liebherr wheel loaders use a hydrostatic transmission: an engine-driven pump powers a hydraulic motor connected to the axles. XPower models, like the L550 to L580, combine this hydrostatic branch with a mechanical branch to reduce consumption over long distances.

How can I tell if a Liebherr travel reducer needs replacing?

Common signs include oil leakage at the floating seal, bearing noise, abnormal overheating, or one track moving slower than the other. Check the oil level and condition, then send us the reducer's reference code.

Where can I find a used Liebherr transmission?

At Codimatra, located in Castelculier near Agen, you will find original used Liebherr parts dismantled from excavators and loaders: drive shafts, reducers, axles, and gearboxes. Each used part is workshop-tested and shipped throughout France and internationally. Check the stock above or request a quote.

Are Liebherr travel reducers the same on the left and right sides?

Not always. Depending on the machine, the left and right reducers may have different references or the same reference installed as mirror images. Record the reference on the reducer's nameplate to be replaced and specify the side: our technicians verify compatibility before shipping.
