Used Excavator and Construction Equipment Handrails

26 produits disponibles

A bent handrail is barely noticeable from the ground until the day the operator slips while descending from the cab, muddy soles and all. To replace it with an identical part, Codimatra removes original handrails from excavators, loaders, and dump trucks, then inspects welds and mounting brackets in its Castelculier workshop. Over 40 years of experience in used spare parts for construction machinery.

Three points of contact: the purpose of the handrail

The handrail, or access rail, provides a secure grip for the operator when climbing into the cab or accessing the hood, fuel tank, and filters. Along with the footsteps, it ensures three points of contact during ascent and descent, a key safety measure to prevent slips and falls from the machine. For earthmoving equipment, access means such as steps, handles, and handrails are specified by ISO 2867, which covers their positioning and continuity from the ground up to the cab.

Where handrails are mounted on an excavator

  • Cab: vertical handle along the door for climbing up and down
  • Turret: rail along the maintenance walkway, often integrated into a guardrail
  • Hood: access handles for the air filter, radiator, and tank
  • Chassis: on large excavators and loaders, a ladder rail from the ground

Used handrails for Caterpillar, Volvo, Case

Our stock mainly comes from Caterpillar excavators and loaders: 320D, 325D, and 326F excavators; 963B and 950K loaders; 769C dump truck. We also have the Volvo ECR145E excavator and the Case 9046 excavator. For other earthmoving machines, our advisors can search among dismantled equipment.

Round tube or flat bar: choosing a compatible handrail

  • Length, curvature, and mounting hole spacing specific to each model and series
  • Profile: round tube or flat bar handrail, painted steel
  • Tube diameter and any synthetic material on handles for ergonomic grip, even when wearing gloves
  • Exact position: cab side, hood, or turret; left or right

An original handrail exactly matches the mounting points specified by the manufacturer, ensuring access compliance.

Welds, bends, bolts: our inspection process

Each handrail is inspected before sale: checking for cracks at welds and mounting brackets, original curvature without deformation, bolts and tapped holes in good condition, and preserved anti-slip coating when present. A part distorted by impact is never offered—even if straightened—as its tube has lost its original strength.

Replacing a handrail identically

  • Brand, model, and serial number of your machine
  • Position of the handrail on the equipment
  • Photo of the mounting points with a size reference

Our team compares this with our approximately 17,000 references and will assist you at 05 18 23 21 34. Parts are shipped throughout France. Also browse the full range of used construction bodywork.

It provides a firm grip for climbing, descending, or moving at height. On an excavator, it complements the steps to maintain three points of contact and reduces the risk of falling from the cab or maintenance walkway. It also guides the way to the machine's service points.

Replace any bent, cracked, or loose handrail with an original part, without shortening it or changing mounting points. Compliance of access equipment contributes to both operator and mechanic safety. Also check bolt tightness during regular machine maintenance.

Repair is possible, but the strength of a temporary weld isn’t equal to the original, and bending often deforms with heat. An original, inspected used handrail gives reliable grip without repair. It fits onto existing mounts without drilling.

The original diameter. Manufacturers select a tube size that allows gripping the handrail with gloves on, and the mounting brackets are sized accordingly. Measure the tube with calipers or send a photo with a reference size—our advisors will identify the correct part.
