Engine Cover, Turret Cover, Door: Properly Naming the Part

On an excavator, the engine cover opens over the engine compartment at the rear of the turret. The side panel, on both left and right, protects the hydraulic pump, filters, and tank. A side panel is always ordered with its specific side. On a loader, the cover encloses the entire rear of the machine, often in multiple sections. Always specify the side, left or right, and position. The cab roof falls under the used cab range, and some access hatches may be found in the used compartment doors.

• Grilles, hinges, and locks are checked separately, as these components tend to fail first.
