The majority of our Volvo hydraulic pumps come from articulated dump trucks A25, A30, A35, and A40, series C to G. Wheeled loaders are also well represented, from L45 to L220, including L110, L120, L150 and L180. For excavators, we dismantle tracked models EC140 to EC460, short tail swing ECR235, and wheeled EW140 and EWR150. Generally, the main pump on these machines is a variable displacement axial piston pump that adjusts flow according to distributor demand, while steering or auxiliary pumps are sometimes gear pumps. Stock evolves with new arrivals: a model not available today may appear in the next dismantling.

The hydraulic pump converts the mechanical energy from the combustion engine into pressurized oil flow. On recent Volvo machines, the main pump is variable displacement: it adjusts flow to match operator’s requested movements. This flow powers the hydraulic cylinders and motors of the machine: excavator arm and bucket, dump truck bed, loader steering and lift arms.
