Why buy a used mini excavator chassis?

To put back into service a machine with a damaged chassis at a cost significantly lower than a new part. A genuine used part matches exactly the manufacturer’s dimensions and fixing points, provided you check its condition and compatibility before purchase.

How to verify compatibility of a used chassis?

Note the brand, model, and serial number of your mini excavator, then compare the track center distance and mounting points with those on the offered chassis. At Codimatra, our advisors perform this verification before shipping.

What are the parts of a mini excavator?

A mini excavator consists of a low chassis with tracks, blade, and travel motors; a slewing turret mounted on the slewing ring, which carries the engine, cabin, and counterweight; and a boom made up of the arm, stick, and bucket. Codimatra offers used parts for each of these assemblies.

What weight can a 2.5-ton mini excavator lift?

Lifting capacity depends on reach, height, and blade position: it decreases significantly with the arm fully extended. It is shown on the manufacturer’s load chart, specific to each model. An incorrect counterweight or chassis affects these values and compromises stability.

Where to find the reference of a mini excavator chassis?

On the machine’s plate, which displays model and serial number, then on the chassis itself, where a reference is often stamped on a frame rail. These two pieces of information help identify the compatible chassis, including for compact machines under 2 tonnes.

How to choose the right used counterweight?

The counterweight must match the machine model exactly, in weight and shape. An underweight counterweight compromises lifting stability; an overweight one overloads the slewing ring. Also check mounting points and ensure no cracks are present.

What points to check before installing a used chassis?

Check the condition of frame rails and welds, slewing ring contact surfaces, roller and travel motor housings, then the track center distance. Have the assembly carried out by a professional equipped for handling heavy parts.
