Komatsu Hydraulic Components and Fittings

On a Komatsu excavator, the main variable-displacement dual-flow pump powers the distributor, which directs oil to the cylinders, the swing motor, and, via the rotary joint, to the travel gear motors. A worn Komatsu hydraulic pump overheats the oil and slows all movement. An internal leak in a Komatsu hydraulic distributor causes the boom to lower. Between these parts, pressure-rated fittings and hoses: a genuine used part fits exactly the same ports.

Komatsu Hydraulic Pump Repair or Used Pump

A Komatsu variable-cylinder pump can be repaired, but this requires a test bench, sometimes long lead times for internal parts, and fine regulation adjustments. When the machine needs to be back in operation quickly, or if the repair estimate approaches the pump’s value, a genuine used pump, dismantled from an identical model and workshop-tested, is a reliable alternative. Swing Pump, Regulation: Common Faults

• Misadjusted regulation: loss of power and diesel engine stalling under load.
• Worn swing pump or swing motor: slow turret startup, imprecise braking.
• Clogged distributor: sticking spools, movements that don’t stop cleanly.
• Rotary joint: one track advancing slower than the other.
• Clogged oil cooler: summer overheating, overall performance loss.

Flow Rate and Hydraulic Oil for Komatsu

A used hydraulic part must be installed on a clean circuit at correct pressure. Before reassembling, drain the hydraulic oil, replace filters, and flush the circuit if contaminated by the breakage. Then have the Komatsu hydraulic flow and pressure settings measured: a pump mounted on a misadjusted circuit won’t regain its performance.
