Compatibility: display, monitor, and wiring harness

From one series to another, a Caterpillar dashboard may have different connectors, monitors, and sometimes communication protocols with the machine’s electronic control units. A 336D dashboard will not fit on a 336E without verification. For recent generations, ask your technician if configuration is required after replacement. Our advisors verify compatibility based on the serial number before shipment.

Warning lights and gauges: replacing a Caterpillar machine dashboard

On a Caterpillar machine, the dashboard includes the hour meter, gauges, and warning lights: oil pressure, temperature, load, clogged filters. A warning light that stays on signals a machine fault which should be diagnosed before any replacement. When the diagnosis confirms a dashboard failure itself—black display, stuck meter or backlight out of order—an original used Cat equipment part restores the unit at a controlled cost.
