The year 2020 at Codimatra
Open house Gaïa 2019 !
Codimatra had the chance to be invite to the open house of Gaïa 2019. Find in pictures and video our return on this show.
Open house days in the middle of a gravel pit !
These two open days organized by Gaïa took place in the heart of a gravel and sand quarry operation. In Saint Selve, near Bordeaux. This imposing quarry, visible from the motorway (the A62 between Bordeaux and Toulouse), has many machines and installations to carry out its gravel and sand quarry activity but also for the extraction of clay and kaolin (white clay quite friable used to make porcelain which is also used in many diverse industries such as medicine or cosmetics). Formerly known as Fabrimaco, the company supplies the sand and gravel such as white sand, diorite, crushed stone or mining gravel that you can see in the picture below.
Activities and visits for everyone in the career
Although the first day was more oriented towards professionals and industrialists, Saturday allowed all those interested to come and participate in activities such as the zip line which was attached between a Cat 336 D and the farm, a second zip line allowed to go over the pond, this activity was of course supervised by professionals, which even allowed children to participate. The visit organized by Gaïa's teams allowed us to get to know their jobs well, but also to see construction and quarry machinery in action for the most passionate public works equipment enthusiasts. For example, we could see a Volvo L180 H wheel loader in action loading sand into a dump truck, a Komatsu WA320 loader emptying its bucket into an HM300 was also on display. Other family and good-natured activities allowed everyone to have fun such as archery or horseback riding in the quarry. Finally, off-road vehicle enthusiasts were able to get into a 4x4 to enjoy a visit richer in thrills and controlled skids ! Of course, to allow visitors to eat, several food-trucks were present.
Many machines and equipment among the exhibitors !
This invitation as an exhibitor allowed us to exhibit some of our machines available for rental but also to present our repair service. With our know-how and spare parts stock, we are able to provide a machine repair service to our customers.
The machines on our stand Codimatra and Codiloc
These open houses were a good opportunity to bring back three of our machines available for rent as well as our breakdown and repair truck. First of all, there is a Liebherr PR726 bulldozer with a tilt blade and a ripper at the back. Followed by a 20-tonne Ammann AP240 wheel compactor and finally an EC140 EL tracked excavator from Volvo, very manoeuvrable. This stand was an excellent opportunity for us to meet professionals and public works enthusiasts from the Southwest region !
Komatsu machines with Intelligent Machine Control
Komatsu allowed visitors to test two of their machines. A PC210 LCi excavator and a D65 PXi bulldozer could be tried by everyone, even the most novice drivers thanks to the intelligent Machine Control (IMC). It is a device that allows, for example, to switch the bubble blade to automatic mode. Using a GNSS antenna and GPS, the system collects data in the field in real time, making it more accurate and faster. The interface inside the cab allows to greatly assist the work of the machine operator.
A wide range of equipment presented
Equipment exhibitors such as AMS were also present to present their bucket reinforcement services or the crusher and gripper buckets shown in the photos below.
The Codimatra teams would like to thank the organizers and staff of Gaïa for their hospitality. Feel free to follow us on social networks or on our blog to find out about the upcoming trade shows and open houses in which we will participate.
